How To Create A Bullet Hole Entry and Exit Wound

In this tutorial, I will be teaching you how to create a bullet entry and exit wound. This tutorial is the perfect SFX makeup for any halloween costume, fancy dress party, or amateur movie set. You can add these wounds to any part of your body to really make your costume that little bit more gory. I did this sfx makeup on the models neck but you can put it anywhere you like.

SFX Makeup Products required:

  • Kryolan Bruise Wheel – The black colour
  • Supracolor Palette – The purple colour
  • Kryolan Soft Putty
  • Wound Filler Gel: SCRATCH
  • Scab Blood
  • Foundation (That suits your skin colour)
  • Pallette Knife
  • Foundation Brush
  • Vaseline
  • Blending Sponge
  • Tissue
  • Bowl

Directions:

  1. Add vaseline to your hands to keep the putty from sticking to your skin. Stick the putty onto the desired area and press down on it until it is stuck to the skin. Get your palette knife and spread out the putty until it looks like it is connected to your skin.
  2. Spread some vaseline onto the putty on the model’s neck and keep blending with the pallette knife. When you are done flattening the putty poke a hole into the middle of it.
  3. Get your foundation brush and a foundation that matches the model’s skin tone.    Blend this foundation in to the putty and wipe away any excess.
  4. Colour in the gap that you created with the black cream colour from the Kryolan Bruise Wheel. This adds depth to the wound.
  5. Using a blending sponge, add the colour lake from the Supracolor Palette to the outside area of the wound and blend blend blend! You want the area around the bullet wound to look irritated and damaged.
  6. To make clumpy blood you will need to get 1 ply sheet of toilet paper and pick pieces off of it and into a bowl. Add the scab blood and mix together with a palette knife, keep adding blood until you are happy with the results.
  7. Place the clumpy blood you just made into the hole in the putty and keep spreading it until it looks realistic. You can add a small amount of the scab blood onto the wound and let it drip down the model’s neck, if you wish. It can be as gory as you like. Experiment
